1. By Air

  • Direct Flights: Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is well-connected to major cities in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru) and some international destinations (Singapore by AirAsia/Scoot), Bengaluru – By indigo etc.).
  • Airlines: Airlines like AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, and Firefly operate regular flights to Langkawi.
  • Transit: If there’s no direct flight from your location, you can fly to Kuala Lumpur or Penang and then take a connecting flight to Langkawi.

2. By Ferry

  • From Kuala Kedah (Kedah): The most popular ferry route to Langkawi is from Kuala Kedah. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • From Kuala Perlis (Perlis): Another option is to take a ferry from Kuala Perlis, which takes about 1 hour.
  • From Penang: Ferries from Penang to Langkawi take around 2.5 to 3 hours. (Temporary close from 2022)
  • From Thailand: Ferries also operate from Satun and Koh Lipe (Thailand) to Langkawi.

3. By Car + Ferry

  • If you’re driving from Peninsular Malaysia, you can drive to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis and then take a ferry to Langkawi. Parking facilities are available at both ferry terminals.

4. By Private Yacht or Boat

  • Langkawi is a popular destination for yachters. You can charter a private yacht or boat to reach the island.
